Valley Power Systems, Inc. began operation in Bakersfield, California in 1963 as Valley GM Diesel, an authorized heavy-duty power distributor for General Motors. Twenty-one years later in June 1984, Valley GM Diesel acquired the assets and operations of the Southern California distributor Lawless Detroit Diesel, Inc. which had began operations in 1949. The corporate name was changed to Valley Detroit Diesel Allison, and the headquarters moved and became established in the Los Angeles basin area of City of Industry. Since that time Valley has grown into a $180 million company with ten locations servicing several market segments and representing several product lines. To more accurately reflect the diverse markets we serve today and our focus in being a power solutions provider, in January 2004 the corporate name was changed to Valley Power Systems, Inc.

Today Valley operates primarily as a franchised distributor and operator of service facilities for heavy-duty diesel engines and transmissions for Detroit Diesel and Allison Transmission. Valley’s large marketing area includes the southern San Joaquin Valley, Southern California basin, and the Baja California region of Mexico.

In addition to Detroit Diesel and Allison Transmission, Valley maintains a substantial inventory and is an authorized distributor for various product lines such as Deutz, E-One, Isuzu, John Deere, Lugger, MTU, Mercedes Benz Industrial, Northern Lights, Volvo and Waukesha.

Additionally, Valley is an authorized distributor for the Electro-Motive Diesel (EMD), providing power generation to seven western continental states, Alaska, Hawaii, Baja Mexico , and selected international regions, including countries in Asia and Latin America. Services provided include product sales, parts, technical support, and field service.

Our production/packaging facility is located in the City of Industry with engineering, procurement, fabrication, testing, commissioning, and maintenance capabilities. Valley has experience in the 5kW to 12mW range for standby, prime, and cogeneration plants with attendant switchgear and 10-12,000

HP marine and mechanical drive packages. Valley also maintains a Power-for-Rent dept. renting and leasing power generators, irrigation pumps, and ancillary equipment.

To provide the continuity necessary to maintain superior service, we have eight full-service branches located in Bakersfield, Fresno, Mira Loma, Irvine, San Diego, San Leandro and West Sacramento, as well as our corporate headquarters in City of Industry. Valley supports a network of over 80 authorized dealers located throughout our market area and is a prime contractor to the US government. Valley is a qualified supplier to foreign governments, with extensive experience in procurement, retrofit, and repower of both commercial and military vehicles and applications.

Our export department has the capability of providing virtually any type of product, part, or service through its worldwide resources. A large portion of Valley’s business is done with customers either outside of the United States or who ship products outside of the US.

Valley’s management team has established and maintains an excellent relationship with its customers and dealers. All locations provide unequaled parts material handling and storage capabilities, training, engineering, and fabrication resources. Valley's facilities total 231,400 square feet, with about 550 employees, and an annual sales volume of over $180 million. All branches are supported by an integrated and sophisticated data processing system, which includes inventory, parts, warranty, and direct order entry, as well as all corporate accounting functions.
